Pike Marketplace, Seattle

Pike Place Market, Seattle

The last day of the trip, we went into the produce capital of the state, Pike Place Market. Filled with brilliant bouquets of flowers ands dazzling displays of fruits and vegetables, mostly locally grown, it was a visual and sensual feast.

The brillance of the flowers was almost overwhelming...

As was the abundance of the fruit of the sea ...

Even the vegetables were cleverly displayed.

Sidney and I came away with nuts, fruit, morels, cheese, and sweatshirts plus lots of cards from purveyors who shipped. I had to borrow another suitcase from Chris to get it all back to Boston. Visiting Pike Place Market was a wonderful way to spend the last day of a terrfic trip.
