Nan's Recipes: Blackberry Margaritas

Blackberry Margarita

I have tons of blackberries growing in my backyard. By the end of the summer, the freezer is filled with bags of blackberries and blackberry puree to make this wonderful drink.

This makes 4 servings:

  • 2 cups blackberries (about 11 oz.)
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
  • 3/4 white Tequila
  • 1/4 cup sugar (superfine preferred)

Puree blackberies in a blender, then force the puree through a sieve. Discard seeds.

In a cocktail shaker, combine 1/2 cup blackberry puree with the remaining ingredients. Shake well.

Remove ice cubes and pour drink into 4 glasses.
