Below you will find all the dog pots, mostly Airedales, that have been auctioned on eBay in 1999.


Airedale Teapot

Seven Airedales and one Welsh terrier pose on this stoneware teapot. The terriers on this pot are drawn with a matte black outline which has been painted with a watercolor-like wash in underglazes over the off-white background glaze. The interior of the teapot is blue. This pot is 5 1/4" in diameter, 6" high and holds one quart when filled. This pot was sold in December for $545.00


Dinah Running through the Woods

This little porcelain container features Dinah running through the woods in the fall, with Hazel close at her heels. The drawing on the lid is painted with underglaze paints, then glazed with a transparent glaze. The bottom is glazed in a shiny cinnamon glaze. The border has chipmunks and mice hiding in the leaves. This lidded pot measures 3 1/4" high by 4 1/4" wide. This pot was sold in November for $617.00

This mug, made of speckled grey stoneware, features two Airedales cautiously inspecting a toad with an interested cat behind them. The mug interior is glazed a shiny deep brown. The exterior is glazed with a matte oatmeal glaze which has been painted with underglaze paints. The mug is 4" high and 3 3/4" wide. This mug was sold in October for $100.

This red stoneware bowl features a gang of Airedales playing under a stand of trees in full autumn color. The interior is a shiny gold. The exterior design is a shiny red-brown glaze with underglaze accents. The background is unglazed. The bowl is 8" wide and 3 1/2" high. The pot was sold in September for $255.

This small bowl is made of porcelain. The design was painted with underglaze paints. There is a delicate vine design on the inside rim. The size of the pot is 4 1/4 inches in diameter and 2 1/4 inches high. The pot was sold in August for $232.50.


Dog Jar

This jar is made of grey stoneware. The pot was glazed in an satin oatmeal glaze, then the shape of the dogs was scratched through the glaze, giving the surface of the glaze a slight feeling of relief. The resulting line was filled with black slip. The dogs were colored with a wash of underglaze paints. The size of the pot is 11 inches high and 5 1/4 inches in diameter. The pot was sold in July for $335.

This pot is made of red stoneware. The clay around the shape of the Airedales was coated with latex resist and the pot was glazed in a glossy red-brown glaze. The resist was removed and the Airedales were detailed with underglaze paint. The background is unglazed and the interior is a honey gold. The size of the pot is 4 1/4 inches in diameter and 6 inches high. The pot was sold in June for $365.

This cherry jewelry cabinet is handmade and decorated with two Airedale tiles. That's Dinah on the left, Hazel on the right. The interior drawers are made of bubinga, a tropical hardwood. The cabinet is 10 inches wide, 9 1/2 inches high and 8 inches deep. The cabinet was sold in May, 1999 for $655.

This mug is made of white stoneware. The lower part of the mug was glazed in a satin white, then the design was painted with underglaze paints. This area was waxed to protect it, then the inside and top of the mug was glazed with a grey blue glaze. The pot is 4 3/4 inches high and 3 1/2 inches in diameter. The pot was sold in March for $227.50.
